SocialPilot Alternatives for Indian Agencies

Start by checking the actual price: SocialPilot bills Indian customers in rupees — ₹2,000/month for 10 accounts, ₹6,000/month for 30 accounts with client approval and white-label reports. Most dollar-priced alternatives cost several times more at Indian scale, so switch for what SocialPilot doesn't do — approvals depth, or the invoicing and reporting side of running an agency — not to save money on scheduling.

Almost every "SocialPilot alternatives" list you'll find quotes the same numbers: Essentials $30, Standard $50, Premium $100, Ultimate $200. Those are the US prices. If you're reading this from Indore or Chennai, they are not the prices you'll be charged, and every comparison built on them is quietly wrong for you.

SocialPilot's own pricing page, served to India, shows ₹2,000/mo for Standard and ₹6,000/mo for Premium, and states that "when using SocialPilot, you'll be required to pay in Indian rupees" (socialpilot.co/pricing). At roughly ₹95 to the dollar, that ₹6,000 agency plan would be about $63 — not the $100 the listicles compare against. SocialPilot is an India-built product and it prices like one.

So the honest starting position for an Indian agency is uncomfortable for a post like this: on pure scheduling cost, SocialPilot is very hard to beat here. The reasons to move are real, but they aren't about the monthly bill. Let's do the actual math first.

What does SocialPilot really cost in India?

Straight from the pricing page, as served in India:

PlanMonthlyAnnualAccountsUsersAgency features
Standard — "Designed for SMBs"₹2,000₹1,700/mo101No client approval, no white label
Premium — "Designed for Agencies to scale"₹6,000₹5,100/mo303Client Approval + White Label Reports
EnterpriseCustom — unlimited users, advanced white label

Add-ons: extra social accounts are ₹200 per month each (the page notes they're sold "in bundles of 5 at ₹1000 per month"), and an additional user is ₹200 per month on Premium.

The first thing to notice is the jump. Client approval — the single feature an agency actually needs — lives on Premium. So the real cost of "SocialPilot for an agency" is ₹6,000/mo, a 3x step from Standard, not ₹2,000. Compare alternatives against ₹6,000, not the entry tier.

The rupee math at Indian agency scale

Take a realistic mid-size Indian agency: 12 clients, about 3 channels each (36 social accounts), 4 people on the team. Here's what each tool charges for exactly that, using each vendor's own published pricing and roughly ₹95 to the dollar.

ToolWhat you're billed perMonthly cost for 36 accounts / 4 users
SocialPilot PremiumPlan + ₹200/extra account + ₹200/extra user≈ ₹7,400 (₹6,000 + 6 accounts + 1 user)
Buffer Essentials$5 per channel/month, 1 user≈ ₹17,000 — and no approvals, single user
Buffer Team$10 per channel/month, unlimited users≈ ₹34,000 (less above 10 channels — Buffer discounts volume)
Planable Pro$49 per workspace/month, unlimited users≈ ₹56,000 (12 workspaces = 12 clients)

Sources: Buffer's pricing page ("$5/month per channel", "$10/month per channel", with "channels 1–10 priced at the standard rate, and any channels above 10 cost less per channel") and Planable's pricing page ("$33 per workspace per month" Basic, "$49 per workspace per month" Pro, 10 social pages and unlimited users per workspace, with analytics a further "$12/workspace/month" add-on).

That's a 4x to 7x spread for the same job. It's not that Buffer and Planable are overpriced — they're priced for agencies billing clients in dollars. When your retainer is ₹35,000 and your tool bill is ₹56,000, the model simply doesn't survive contact with the Indian market.

Prices change and currency conversion moves. Everything above was taken from each vendor's own pricing page on 1 August 2026 — check the live pages before you commit, and note that Planable's are stated excluding applicable taxes.

Which billing unit fits an Indian agency?

This is the part that decides your bill three years from now, and almost nobody evaluates it at signup. There are three models:

The rule of thumb: if your clients are few and large, per-workspace pricing is fine. If they're many and small — which describes most Indian agencies, including mine in the early years, and nearly every agency we work with in Indore or Jaipur — per-account or per-brand tiers are the only models that don't eat your margin.

When should you actually leave SocialPilot?

Being fair to a competitor is more useful to you than a hit piece. Genuine reasons agencies move:

  1. You need multi-stage approvals. SocialPilot's Premium has client approval; Planable is built around approval workflow, with "3 approval types (None, Optional & Required)" on Pro and multi-level approvals on Enterprise. If your clients need a marketing manager and a brand head to sign off in sequence, that's a real gap.
  2. Your team outgrew the seats. Premium includes 3 users; a 12-person agency is buying 9 add-on seats. Buffer Team's unlimited users starts looking rational at that size — expensive per channel, free per human.
  3. Approvals happen on WhatsApp anyway. If your clients ignore the tool and approve in a chat thread, you're paying for a feature you don't use. That's a workflow problem, not a tool problem — we wrote about it in WhatsApp vs a client portal.
  4. Scheduling was never the bottleneck. This is the big one, below.

The thing no scheduler on this list does

Here's what I learned the expensive way. We ran a scheduler happily for two years. It scheduled fine. And yet every month still went like this: content planned in a spreadsheet, approvals chased on WhatsApp, posts scheduled in the tool, reports rebuilt by hand in Canva, invoices raised in a separate accounting app, GST and TDS reconciled in a third place, and the actual status of any client answerable only by opening four tabs.

The scheduler was never the problem. The seams between the tools were. Every alternative in this comparison — SocialPilot, Buffer, Planable, Zoho Social — solves publishing. None of them raise a GST-compliant invoice, track a TDS deduction, hold your client contracts, or tell you which retainer is 20 days overdue.

Content calendar and AI planner showing scheduled posts for multiple client brands in one agency dashboard
The calendar is table stakes. What changes an agency's month is having approvals, reports and invoicing attached to the same client record.

That's the gap My Digital Sevak was built for — I built it for my own agency before it was a product. Content calendar and Instagram scheduling, a mobile portal where clients approve, monthly reports that assemble themselves, and GST invoicing with Razorpay payments and TDS tracking, in one login. Founding pricing is ₹999/month, which is below SocialPilot's Standard plan — though I'd rather you switch because your invoicing and approvals live somewhere else entirely, not to save ₹1,000.

To be equally honest about the trade: if all you need is to push posts to many accounts cheaply and you have no interest in the business-operations side, SocialPilot at ₹2,000 is a perfectly good answer and you should keep it.

Whatever you pick, migrate at a month boundary, export your scheduled queue first, and reconnect accounts through the official Meta flow rather than sharing passwords — see auto-posting without password sharing. And if you're moving mid-quarter, keep the old tool alive for one overlapping month; a silent publish failure during migration costs more than the ₹2,000.

Frequently asked questions

How much does SocialPilot cost in India?

SocialPilot bills Indian customers in rupees, not dollars. Its Standard plan is ₹2,000 a month for 10 social accounts and one user, and Premium is ₹6,000 a month for 30 accounts and three users. Extra accounts cost ₹200 each per month and extra users ₹200 per month.

Which SocialPilot alternative is cheapest for an Indian agency?

For agencies running many accounts, SocialPilot itself is usually the cheapest of the well-known schedulers because it charges in rupees. Dollar-priced tools like Buffer and Planable cost several times more at Indian scale once the exchange rate is applied to per-channel or per-workspace billing.

Does SocialPilot include client approval and white-label reports?

Client approval and white-label reports appear on the Premium plan at ₹6,000 a month, not on the ₹2,000 Standard plan. If approvals are the reason you are shopping, compare against the Premium price rather than the entry tier, since that is the real cost of the feature.
